France

France is the birthplace of most international (international) grape varieties that have been cultivated all over the world since the end of the XX century (cabernet sauvignon, chardonnay, Sauvignon blanc, merlot, syrah, etc.). The fundamental terms of winemaking, such as "terroir" and "appellation", are of French origin. Many wine-making traditions originated in France, which spread over time to other countries and continents. French winemaking is recognized all over the world — it is not only an important export item, but also a matter of national pride.
France is one of the largest producers of wine and wine materials in the world. The country ranks second in the world after Spain in terms of vineyard area. French wines of the upper segment of the market (especially Burgundy) are in undiminished demand both in France and abroad.
Since 1984, there has been a more extensive Wine Museum in the French capital, where you can get acquainted with the history and technology of French winemaking. In 2016, a museum and educational space called "The City of Wine" was inaugurated in Bordeaux.
